I am of Italian heritage with roots in Calabria in southern Italy. My love of Italian cuisine was fostered by the Italian restaurant owned by my family in Des Moines, Iowa.
Inspired by my travels and studies at La Quercia in Italy, I've created my cucina to offer small group lessons in Italian cooking and entertaining.
My experience spans years as the co-owner of the successful catering business Occasions Catering. My previous work as a classroom teacher and my love of Italian cooking make a perfect combination for teaching cucina classes.
I frequently travel to Italy with the sole purpose of learning new cooking methods and recipes. In addition to my professional cooking, I have had many years of experience cooking for my husband and three hungry sons!
